In this project, the main goal was to create a brand identity for a handcrafted skin care product. Central to this project was a focus on the intrinsic values of the brand, as well as the aesthetic aspect, in order to build a deep connection between the consumer and the product.

Abstract

Branding

To create a product and its image, I conducted a market analysis and chose to position it in the Japanese market. This choice was guided by the product's core values of enhancing consumers' natural beauty, in line with the Japanese principle of wabi-sabi aesthetics, which means "discovering beauty in imperfection." The choice of color palette was guided by historical and cultural traditions. The presentation of products is characterized by a minimalist and essential style, using a maximum of two colors. I also used the color red, combined with white, to symbolize strength and vitality.

During the design process, I wanted to create graphic symbol inspired by Japanese tradition and brand values. In the naming process, I chose the term "wabi-sabi" to best represent the brand concept. To avoid confusion with "wasabi," I decided to subdivide the word. The claim "be beautiful, be yourself" was chosen to convey positive values and promote acceptance of one's body, including imperfections.
